Adopt a cat

Before going to a new home every cat in our care is:

Neutered (except kittens)
Vaccinated
Microchipped
Health-Checked
Flea- and worm-treated
Insured

All of the above cost our Branch a minimum of £140 per cat. Our branch is self funding and volunteers work hard throughout the year to raise funds for the above and the day to day running costs of the shelter. (ie.rent, heat and light, food etc.). Last year this amounted to just over £45,000.

We charge an Adoption Fee of £60 per cat/kitten. (a pair will cost you £100) If you feel able to give us more than the basic fee then we will be able to treat the extra as a donation and can claim Gift Aid on the extra amount.

We may carry out a home visit to help ensure that you are matched with the perfect cat and to take the oportunity to offer you information that will make the homing process go smoothly.

Important information - Please read the following...
We’d love you to visit our shelter and offer a much needed, loving home to one of our cats displayed here, but for those of you not living in the Arbroath or Carnoustie areas we recommend you contact your local branch first. This is for two important reasons:-

1. Your local branch may have just the cat you are looking for.
2. Your local branch may have to carry out a home visit.

If you do not find the cat you are looking for at your local branch then the paperwork they give you when your home visit has been completed can be used to home a cat from any other branch. Either that or you can ask the visiting officer to contact us to confirm your home visit is satisfactory. To find the number of your local branch please contact www.cats.org.uk
